Magdalena Oettl, born in Augsburg in 1994, studied dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and at Performact in Torres Vedras (PT).

As a dancer, she has worked with choreographers including Mark Sieczkarek, Rainer Behr, Mate Meszaros, Ricardo Ambrozio and Royston Maldoom, among others. In 2017 she was awarded the Claasen Dance Prize. In addition to her dance practise, she began to develop her own choreographies in 2015 presenting them in NRW, Bavaria and Switzerland. From 2017 to 2018 she gained a lot of experience as choreography assistant for dance and physical theater productions. Due to Magdalena's musical background, she was often involved in interdisciplinary projects. The freelance dancer and choreographer has been based in NRW since 2017. In the same year she began to work as a dancer and choreographer with the Samadhyana Company and led the research project Der Platz in 2019. Since 2019 she has been a dancer in the new production “Traces” by the Belgian dance company Ultima Vez under the direction of Wim Vandekeybus.
