Danilo Valpassos Cardoso was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1994.
As a child of holistic therapists and artists, Danilo began to familiarize with forms of mental and physical awareness at a young age.
In his childhood he learned the principles of Shiatsu, Ayurveda, Yoga, Alexander Technique, theater and dance. At the age of 12 he began to learn break dancing and later on received a scholarship to attend the Deborah Colker Movement Center, where he studied jazz, hip hop and ballet. In Brazil, Danilo worked for five years as a dancer for the Xstyle Dance Company and three years as a contemporary dancer and hip hop teacher for the Lumini Cia de Danca.
From 2012 to 2016 he studied contemporary dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and graduated with a bachelor's degree. Parallel to his studies, Danilo produced his first dance evening in 2014, during which he presented his own short pieces.

In 2015 he founded the Samadhyana Company and produced successful dance theater productions in the following years.
In the past four years Danilo has worked with many choreographers, companies and German theaters. After numerous collaborations with choreographers, composers, painters and actors in Germany, he developed his own approach to art: referring to different ancient and modern techniques and methodologies, he tries to expose an organic, authentic and visceral expression of body, mind and soul.
